Ingredients

  • 1 large • onion, thinly sliced

  • 8 slices • rye bread
  • 8 slices • Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp • mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions
  1. Caramelize Onions: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Form Patties: Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape into patties. Season with salt and pepper.
