Description

Experience the comforting embrace of Miso Soup, a timeless Japanese delicacy. Made with rich miso paste, tender tofu, and a sprinkle of seaweed, this simple yet flavorful soup offers a nourishing blend of umami and warmth. Perfect as a starter or a light meal, Miso Magic transports you to the heart of Japanese cuisine with every savory sip.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups • dashi broth (see note for homemade dashi)
  • 1/2 cup • miso paste (white or red)
  • 1 block • tofu, cut into small cubes
  • 2 • green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet • nori (seaweed)
  • • Cooked rice (optional, for serving)
Instructions
  1. In a large pot, bring dashi broth to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Place miso paste in a small bowl. Add a ladleful of hot broth to the miso paste and whisk until miso is dissolved and smooth.
  3. Pour the dissolved miso paste back into the pot of simmering broth. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add tofu cubes to the soup. Simmer gently for 5-7 minutes to heat the tofu through.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in thinly sliced green onions and nori strips (if using).
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Be cautious with adding extra salt as miso paste is already salty.
  7. Serve hot, optionally with a side of cooked rice. Enjoy this light and savory Japanese miso soup!
