Ingredients
- 1 pound • mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- 1 cup • all-purpose flour
- 2 large • eggs, beaten
- 2 cups • Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon • garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon • dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon • salt
- 1/2 teaspoon • black pepper
- • Vegetable oil, for frying
- • Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- 1. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- 2. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the bread crumb mixture. Repeat the egg and bread crumb steps for a thicker coating.
- 3. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour.
- 4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- 5. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
